Poetry Slams sind moderne »Dichterwettstreite« und finden mittlerweile fast jeden Abend irgendwo in Deutschland statt, auf einer Kleinkunstbühne, in einem Club, einem Kulturzentrum. Etwa 200 regelmäßige Veranstaltungen dieser Art gibt es in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz, in NRW sind es rund 30 Slams. Das Publikum entscheidet mit seinem Applaus, wer in die nächste Runde kommt. Beim "The Lower Rhine" Poetry Slam übernimmt diese Rolle eine spontan ausgewählte Jury von Leuten. Moderation: Sandra da Vina
